Libby is a daughter of the great Ch. Windrift's Summertime Blues HOF ROMX (Badger). Her dam is Ch. Windrift's Doing It Right CDX ROMX (Zipper), who produced nine other champion offspring including Ch. Windrift's Right Choice (Mischief), one of the rare bitches to earn a HOF. Libby is a sound, happy, intelligent girl with tons of personality and a pretty, expressive face.

Libby came to live with me when she was 18 months old, after her original owner returned her to breeder Joanne Reed. Joanne was looking for a placement that would allow Libby to be shown, and I was looking for a well-bred Keeshond as a companion. Although at the time I was not particularly interested in showing, I had shown Kees in the early 1970s and thought it might be fun to get back into it. Libby and I hit it off immediately, and Joanne placed her with me on a co-ownership agreement.

After about six months of adjusting to being a companion dog again, Joanne suggested that we start showing Libby. Although she is a rather "old-fashioned" Kees, with a short dense coat instead of the longer coat so popular in the ring today, with Joanne on the lead Libby showed like a pro and earned her championship, clinching the ROMX title for her mother Zipper. Libby is now retired from the show ring, though she still enjoys watching her kennelmates from ringside.
